The Nebraska Medical Center treated three people on Wednesday, December 5, 2007
after the shooting at Westroads Mall. They arrived at the hospital at 3 p.m. (central
time). One shooting victim remains a patient at The Nebraska Medical Center.
With no discernable pulse and massive blood loss, doctors at The Nebraska Medical
Center say Fred Wilson was near death when he was transported to the medical center
on Wed, Dec. 5.
Fred Wilson Sound Bites
Fred Wilson was released from The Nebraska Medical Center at 11:00 am December 20th.
He knows his recovery will take some time, but he is optimistic. Fred also wants
to say thanks to everyone who’s been thinking about him and offering their support.
Also treated at The Nebraska Medical Center, a 55-year-old male, was treated and
released for cuts to his face. He received his injuries from running and ducking
under a clothing rack.
A third victim, 34-year-old Jeff Schaffart, was treated for a gunshot wound to his
arm. Schaffart was shopping for his 2-year-old daughter when he heard the gunshots.
He ran into the women’s lounge area where he realized he’d been shot in his left
arm and his left index finger. Schaffart was discharged around 7:00 p.m. on December
5.
